Privacy Policy

We do not collect names, emails, or accounts. There is no login.

• We do not read your IP address, browser identity, or cookies for tracking.
• Your browser keeps a list of which puzzles you have already seen in this visit (session storage), so the next puzzle does not repeat. This never leaves your device.
• Our server receives only a step name (arrived, started a puzzle, solved a puzzle), the current date, your display language, and a label for where you came from (like a referring site name). It never gets which puzzle, your move, or anything that identifies you.
• The chess board and pieces are drawn by your browser. No image or font is fetched from outside this site.
• Ads are shown via Google AdSense, which may use cookies for its own purposes. See Google's privacy policy for details.
• Third parties, including Google, serve these ads and may collect information through cookies, web beacons and your IP address to show them. Read how Google uses data from sites that use its services. You can turn off personalized ads in Google Ad Center.

Puzzle data

Puzzles come from the public Lichess puzzle database (CC0, public domain). Every puzzle shipped in this app was replayed move-by-move through our own chess rules engine before release; any sequence that turned out illegal was dropped.

This site is served through Cloudflare, and Cloudflare injects a visit logging script into our pages by itself. We did not add it, so the browser is instructed to refuse it. That record therefore never leaves. The tag is still inserted upstream, and it seems better that you know. No cookie is used.
